16 Gauge Paslode StaplerIf you have ever installed siding on a house you will sure realize what a huge and monotonous task it can be. Whether it’s a small job or a whole house you sure want a stapler that is going to give you mobility and reliability. Most importantly you want a stapler that is going to give power and consistency. This is where the 16 gauge Paslode stapler comes into a world of its own.

The Paslode stapler allows the convenience and freedom of no hoses or compressors to deal with. It certainly allows you to move freely around when siding a house or moving around a large job site. This great stapler has made installing siding 5 times faster for our business. A huge plus in my books.

Performance on the job

Having the ability to drive 3/4-Inch – 2-Inch medium crown staples, the Paslode stapler give you plenty of options. This gun has the ability to tackle almost anything we throw at it. From vinyl siding, insulation, fascia , suspended ceilings, fiber board, HVAC duct work, house wrap, sheet metal and metal bracing for pipes and cables. We have done it all.

We have been doing siding by hand for over 15 years now and breaking siding when you hit it with a hammer is no longer an issue. Nailing into tight places is a so much easier to do. This fantastic stapler gives you arms and wrists a rest from repetitive hammering. A big bonus for us old guys.

Having to reconfigure hoses over scaffold and ladders is a thing of the past. This is especially true when working at heights no longer do you need a third person on the ground to move the compressor and hoses. Imagine the productivity this kind of freedom gives you.

Some of our sub contractors swear by the paslode stapler as the work underneath houses and in roof spaces installing duct work and bracing. Having the cordless stapler in those confined spaces is a huge convenience not having hoses dragging around those small spaces.

The Paslode stapler is very comfortable to hold, even when you are siding all day long. Another great productivity design is the adjustable depth of drive which allows you to control the staple depth in hard or soft wood without the need for a wrench.

Advantages

  • The cordless configuration which allows you to move freely around the site and offers greater productivity. It is a pleasure not having to drag hoses around job site,  on scaffold and up ladders.
  • A side loading magazine, which permits easier and faster loading and unloading.
  • Lightweight and durable, with great consistent power all day long.
  • Quick-clear feature provides easy access to the nose which cuts downtime.
  • Depth of drive adjustment provides precise control of staple depth.

Disadvantage

  • Using 16 gauge staples does result in slightly lower holding strength
  • Stapler’s can stop working in cold temps –  A quick tip keep a spare fuel cell in your top pocket,  body warmth will fix that problem then just switch out.
  • Sequential staples can NOT be fired in a row. Slower fire rate.

The bottom line

The flexibility this gun provides and compressed size are true winners in my view. We now own 5 of these 16 gauge Paslode stapler for our crews and they are truly an awesome tool. While they are a bit more expensive than the air tools, the freedom of use that this style of gun offers and how it will make your work more efficient makes this a purchase well worth the money. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.
